Music Workshop for kindergartens

This workshop is an interesting complement to the guided tour of Villa Bossi, it allows the students to approach music with simple activities under the guide of qualified operators.

The purpose of this workshop is to encourage the expressive musical potentiality of the pupils through playful and guided listening activities.

The following activities are proposed, considering the age of the students:

  • Guided listening and physical activities
  • Simple music games with rhythmic instruments and voice

Hop, Hop, Hop!

Music workshop on renaissance and baroque rhythm for primary schools

This workshop is an interesting complement to the guided tour of Villa Bossi, it allows the pupils to approach the practice of instrumental rhythmics.

This music workshop, that will be done under the guide of a qualified operator in the field of music teaching, receives a peculiar cultural appeal from the historical context of Villa Bossi and its vocation for ancient, renaissance and baroque music.

The aim of this workshop is to enrich the musical luggage of the pupils through simple exercises of rhythmical practice starting from the guided listening of renaissance and baroque dances played by the expert.

The following activities are proposed:

  • Live listening of renaissance and baroque dances performed on the harpsichord by the expert
  • Analysis of rhythm patterns in the music pieces
  • Rhythm practice with different types of instrument starting from the musical material presented in the previous points

Music at the Villa

Music workshop on ancient music for secondary schools

This workshop, addressed to secondary school students, is a perfect complement to the guided tour of Villa Bossi, it’s purpose is the realization of simple musical arrangements based on ancient airs and dances, linked to the atmosphere of Villa Bossi.

The teacher will explain some basic concepts that will give the possibility to elaborate the themes and play them with the instruments the pupils know or usually use at school (recorder, guitar, piano, percussion instruments).

The aim of this workshop is the enrichment of music skills through instrumental exercises and the analysis of musical themes moving from renaissance and baroque dances, suggested by the expert through a guided listening.
The following activities are proposed:

  • Presentation of one or more music themes
  • Melodic-harmonic analysis of the pieces
  • Introduction to the harmonization (triads and passage notes)
  • Proposal of appropriate rhythmic patterns
  • Instrumental ensemble practice according to the suggested principles
