Fabio Bonizzoni is one of the leading Italian harpsichordists and organists of his generation.
From 2004 he exclusively devotes himself as soloist and director, in particular of his own orchestra “La Risonanza”. Fabio is harpsichord professor at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague and at the Conservatory of Novara.
In 2010 he recorded with La Risonanza the complete Italian Cantatas with instruments by G.F. Handel: They have been awarded the prestigious Handel Stanley Sadie Prize, and the final disk, “Apollo e Dafne”, is winner of the 2011 Gramphone Award. Fabio’s last recording as a soloist is devoted to the two books of toccatas by Girolamo Frescobaldi.
Fabio has been guest conductor in Poland for the Capella Cracoviensis and Wroclaw Baroque Orchestra; in the Netherlands for the Holland Bach Society; in Brazil for the Orquestra de Câmara da Cidade de Curitiba, and has conducted the orchestra of Teatro alla Scala in Milan for the new ballet “L’altro Casanova”.
