Italian pianist Gabriele Leporatti began his music studies at the age of six and graduated “Magna cum Laude” from the “Luigi Cherubini” Conservatory in Florence at the age of nineteen. He continued his musical education under the guide of Fabio Bidini, Maria Tipo, Jerome Rose and Joaquín Achúcarro.
Based in Germany, his career has brought him to perform in Italy, Turkey, Spain, United Kingdom, Germany, Poland, Estonia, Switzerland, Austria, Holland, South Africa, USA and China, at venues such as the Wigmore Hall, the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, the NDR Hannover, the Philharmonie Herford, the He Luting Hall, while some of his performances and recordings were broadcasted by medias like SAFm (South Africa), RBB Kulturradio (Germany), Raitre (Italy), Radio 4 (Netherlands). In 2009 he made his New York City debut recital at the prestigious “International Keyboard Institute & Festival”. Engagements for 2015/16 season will feature concerts in Germany, USA, Switzerland, Holland and China.
Keen chamber musician, Gabriele Leporatti performs with Trio Suleika, with artists such as Eva Mei, Fabio Bidini and soloists from major orchestras like the Royal Concertgebouw, the Rotterdam Philharmonics and the Düsseldorfer Symphoniker.
His discography includes a four hands CD with Fabio Bidini (Schubert, Brahms, Rachmaninoff) for True Sounds Classical and a solo CD “The Young Brahms” with early works of Johannes Brahms.
In 2015 his new solo album with works of Schumann and Respighi will be released for Etera.
Gabriele Leporatti is regularly invited to serve as jury member in many piano competitions and to give masterclasses in universities worldwide.
Since 2011 he is faculty member at the “International Keyboard Institute & Festival” in New York and since 2012 he teaches and is head of the piano department at the Anton Rubinstein Akademie in Düsseldorf.
