Katja Polyakova was born in Oserks (Russia) in 1987. At the age of five she had her first piano lesson and consequently won several prices at national and international competitions at an early age. From October 2005 to September 2015 she first studied at the University of Music Karlsruhe where she majored in piano and historical keyboard instruments and then pursued a post graduate degree at Mozarteum Salzburg specializing on hammerklavier. In 2012 and 2015 she was awarded a third price at the Fritz-Neumeyer competition for hammerclavier (Bad Krozingen/Germany).
Katja Polyakova frequently gives recitals in Russia, Germany and Austria. She is an active chamber musician as well. Her repertory focuses on historically informed performances of classic and romantic works on original instruments from the 18th and 19th century.
Katja is in the team of the Young Artists of the Accademia Europea Villa Bossi in Bodio (Varese, Italy).
