Manuela Giardina was born on 11 July 1987 in Italy (Mistretta – ME) and started studying piano at the age of seven under the guidance of Gabriella Agugliaro.
In 2007 she graduated with honours (10/10 cum laude), from the Conservatory “V.Bellini” of
Palermo, under the guidance of Giulio Arena.
From 2010 to 2012 she attended the course of fortepiano and performance practice on historical instruments held by Stefano Fiuzzi at the International Piano Academy “Incontri col Maestro” in Imola and in 2014 she completed her Master’s Degree in Piano Performance with 110/110 cum laude and honorable mention at the Palermo Conservatory in the class of Dorotea Cei.
Actually she is studying at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg in the class of Wolfgang Brunner (fortepiano) and Claudius Tanski (piano).

As active student she has attended masterclasses both on modern and historical instruments with Bruno Canino, Dario De Rosa, Jeffrey Swann, Paul Badura – Skoda, Sergio Perticaroli, Roberto Plano, Alexei Lubimov, Costantino Mastroprimiano and Bart van Oort.
Since 2012 she is receiving an excellence scholarship to attend the historical piano courses organised by the Accademia Villa Bossi in Italy. Since the age of eight she has won top prizes at more than twenty national and international competitions, among others: International Music Competition “Città di Pietra Ligure” (SV), 1999;  National Competition “Muzio Clementi – Yamaha” in Lastra a Signa (FI), 2004; European Grand Prize of Music and International Grand Prize of Piano “Mendelssohn – Cup” in Taurisano (LE), 2004; National Competition “Nuova coppa pianisti” in Osimo (AN), 2011; International Competition “Gianluca Campochiaro” in Pedara (CT), 2011.

She has been holding concerts as a soloist and for chamber music in Italy, Austria and Germany.
Recent activities include a recital at the Palermo RAI Auditorium, the participation at the Schumann Marathon organised by “Fondazione Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana” at the Politeama Garibaldi Theater in Palermo and the execution of the first Beethoven’s piano concerto with the Symphony Orchestra of the Conservatory “V.Bellini” in Palermo. For chamber music she has collaborated with Calogero Palermo, principal clarinet at the Orchestra of “Opera di Roma” and soloist at the Orchestra National de France.
During the International Summer Academy Mozarteum 2011 and 2012 she was selected to perform in the “Akademie Konzerte” that took place in the Wiener Saal of the Mozarteum University in Salzburg.Recent performances include concerts on historical instruments in Palermo, Bologna and Salzburg. Among them two recitals on the original historical instruments Mathias Jakesch (Vienna, 1827 ca.) and Pleyel Wolff et compagnie (Paris, 1858) at the Regional Museum of Palazzo Mirto in Palermo; the participation to the last concert of the first edition of the Imola Summer Piano Academy and Festival in Bologna, where she has played three different historical instruments of the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries; a recital with works by Liszt on historical piano Érard   (1875 ca.) of the “Fondazione Whitaker” in Villa Malfitano in Palermo and concerts at the Mozarteum University and at the Michael-Haydn-Museum within the First Salzburger Hammerklavierfestival organised by the Johann-Michael-Haydn Gesellschaft in Salzburg.

Manuela  is in the team of the Young Artists of the Accademia Europea Villa Bossi in Bodio – Varese, Italy.
