Applauded as “the last romantic pianist of our time,” Jerome Rose is one of the most well-known pianists of America. After winning the Golden Medal at the Concorso Internazionale Busoni, Jerome Rose, in his early twenties, started his international career. His recordings catalogue, presented by Medici Classics, includes the Concerts of Liszt with the Philharmonic of Budapest, the transcendental Studies of Liszt, two whole sonatas of Schumann, “Davidsbündlertänze” and “Kreisleriana,” published by Sony, the last three sonatas of Beethoven, and Chopin’s ballads. Moreover, the catalogue Medici Classics contains Schubert’s posthumous sonatas, one album of Liszt with the sonata in B minor, Mozart’s Fantasia dal Don Giovanni and the Mephisto Waltz, and a recording dedicated to Brahms, which includes the Sonata No. 3 and the Variazioni e Fuga on a Haendel’s theme. Recently, Medici Classics also published the new release of the recording that won the Prix du Disque of the “Anni di Pellegrinaggio,” of Franz Liszt.

Jerome Rose recorded several DVDs, obtaining a great international success from the critic. Among his DVDs, we find the Quattro Ballate and Sonate op. 35 and op. 58 of Chopin; the Sonate of Beethoven, Opp. 101, 109, 110, and 111; a DVD entirely dedicated to Schumann: Humoreske, Fantasie, and Carnaval; a DVD recording of Liszt’s works, such as the Sonata in B minor, Funérailles, Sonetti dal Petrarca, and Valle d’Obermann; an all-Schubert DVD of the last four sonates. An all-Brahms recording of the Sonata n 3, Klavierstücke, Rapsodie, Fantasie and Intermezzi has been published in DVD and Blu-Ray in autumn 2011. Another all-Schumann recording in Blu-ray format has been published in autumn 2012, and it includes Kreisleriana e Davidsbündlertänze. A second recording of Beethoven’s sonatas has been published in the autumn of 2013. Another important project is the publication of the first episode of “The Artist at Home”: a video with performances of Chopin’s selected compositions, and an artistic profile of Jerome Rose in conversation with David Dubal. Also, in 2015, Jerome Rose published, for the first time in a CD format, a box set of 3 CDs dedicated to Liszt, called “40th Anniversary Collection,” with recordings of Liszt’s works.

Jerome Rose’s recordings of Liszt, published by Vox, obtained the Grand Prix du Disque from the Liszt Society of Budapest, and the Hungarian Minister of Culture gave him the Franz Liszt Medal for having organized the whole “Liszt Centennial” celebration in Washington DC, in 1986.
